That 80's Child: The Generation...Why? : Season One
My introduction to my new endeavor in podcasting. I discuss what the podcast will be about.
Do you remember when Saturday morning was the day you could not wait for? All those great cartoon line ups. Inspector Gadget, Jem and the Holograms, Thundercats and Transformers! Let me take you on a journey of the greatest sets of cartoons ever.
NES, Super NES, and Atari. The groundwork for the home consoles we all know and love. I talk gaming and how it has changed over the decades.
Cabbage Patch Kids, My Little Ponies and Glow Worms. No iPads, cell phones or streaming services. Good old playing with hot wheels and barbies. Let me take you back to the days of pure imagination.
Music has always been an integral part of my life and it helped me through some rough times. Even though looking back on my childhood and even yours, it may not have always been peaches and cream.
Let me honest, there is so much we can say about TV of the 80’s and 90’s. Sitcoms were only a part of it. I talk about a selection of the ones that I was able to watch when I was little.
During the 80’s and 90’s there were always some questionable decisions in the fashion department. I knew a lot of girls and guys that followed the trends. I was just not one of them.
Neverending Story, Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal. Just to name the top three in my book. The land of imagination was so rich back then. I feel there is something lacking in what we have today.
There is no way I can go over every single great song that came out in the 80’s. There are just far too many. But in this episode, I name a few and why they are so memorable.
The way that we talk to one another has changed dramatically since we were younger. We saw the evolution of the internet and how much a computer has become a staple in households everywhere. Not to mention cell phones and that they are seemingly attached to our hands.
I reflect over the previous topics we touched on and how much it has changed over time. For good, bad and otherwise.
